Most recently, Plaintiffs' lawyers unanimously selected Mr. Seeger to co-lead the federal Vioxx Litigation MDL and, on April 8, 2005, Judge Fallon affirmed that choice by appointing Mr. Seeger to co-lead the Plaintiffs' Steering Committee, and to be one of only three members of the Executive Committee. Mr. Seeger was also appointed as Liaison Counsel and Co-lead Counsel for New Jersey's Vioxx Litigation. And Mr. Seeger recently negotiated on behalf of plaintiffs, a national $700 million settlement with Eli Lilly of substantially all of the Zyprexa litigation.
Mr. Seeger has played significant roles in multiple other pharmaceutical litigations. He is the principal negotiator and Co-Lead Counsel in the nationwide settlement of all PPA related injuries resulting from the ingestion of Dexatrim. He was appointed to the Plaintiffs’ Steering Committee in the Rezulin MDL litigation, which is assigned to Judge Lewis A. Kaplan in the Southern District of New York. He is also a member of the Plaintiffs’ Steering Committee in the Rezulin New Jersey state litigation. The case was the first Rezulin case to be tried in New York and followed a string of Rezulin defense verdicts in other jurisdictions.
Mr. Seeger has lectured extensively on many topics involving complex litigation including state and federal coordination of multi-state and multi-jurisdictional litigation and the use of Alternative Dispute Resolution in class action and mass tort litigation. Several of Mr. Seeger's cases have received regional and national press coverage.
