Out of this total number of accidents, 348 involved fatalities. People suffered non-fatal personal injuries in 83,273 of these New York City traffic accidents.

There were 36,578 motor vehicle accidents reported in Queens County in the year 2000 according to statistics. Many of these reported accidents resulted in fatalities. Reports indicate that Queens had the second highest amount of fatal traffic accidents among the 5 boroughs of New York City as 100 of these Queens accidents resulted in fatalities. It has been reported that 24,459 motor vehicle accidents resulted in personal injuries while property damage occurred in 12,019 of the reported Queens traffic accidents.
