Marketers of diet pills can no longer claim that consumers will lose weight by taking them, the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) says. The companies implicated agreed to pay $25 million to settle FTC charges. The FTC indicates that the manufacturers' claims of weight-loss are not backed by scientific evidence.
