Pricey Front Loaders' Selling Points
High-end home-appliance manufacturer Miele sells several lines of front-load washing machines. The washers individually start at prices around $2,000.00. A washer with a matching dryer will cost the purchaser several thousand dollars. Miele's washing machines are all of the front load type. These washing machines are touted as environmentally friendly, because they use less water and energy per load, and more gentle on clothing because there is no "agitator" as is found in top-load washing machines. Miele consistently describes its washing machines as the highest quality washers available. Unfortunately, Miele washing machines, like so many less expensive front-load washers fail to deliver on their promises of exceptionally clean clothing.
Miele Washers' Mold Problems
After a short time of use, mold begins to grow inside of Miele front-load washers. This causes a foul, moldy smell to permeate clothing washed in the machine. Attempts to ventilate the machine by leaving the door open may only cause the smell to fill the room. Other methods to cure this problem tend to only diminish its effect, and not eliminate it completely. Consumers who have paid an exceptionally high price for a premium product are left with the same problems that others have had with less costly washers, and are left with few, if any, options to remedy the problem.
