Front Load Washing Machines' Promising Design
Home owners are always looking for ways to reduce costs in energy bills, and many home owners are looking for ways to reduce their water consumption as well. Many appliance companies have sold front-loading washing machines to address that demand. Front load washing machines work like the machines at laundromats. Clothing is put in through a door on the front , and the washing rotation happens going around vertically instead of horizontally, as it does in top-load machines. This means that the washing machine does not have to fill all the way up in order to soak all the clothing; the rotating section submerges the clothing with each rotation. This seems like a proven way of designing washers because laundromats use similar looking front load industrial washers. Home use washers, however, suffer a serious design flaw.
Whirlpool Duet - Moldy Surprises
After a short time of use, front-load washers, like washers from the Whirlpool Duet series, begin to grow mold inside the washing machine, causing a foul, moldy smell to permeate clothing washed in the machine. Some users attempt to leave the washing machine door open to let the machine ventilate, but this only causes the smell to fill the room. The result is that the purchaser is left with clothing which smells moldy, and no satisfaction for having spent a considerable amount of money on a new washer.
