What Is Rhabdomyolysis

Rhabdomyolysis is the breakdown of muscle tissue that results in the release of toxic substances. It frequently results in kidney damage. When muscle is damaged, a substance called myoglobin is released into the bloodstream. It is filtered out of the bloodstream by the kidneys, but it causes damage to the kidney, and sometimes kidney failure.
