What is Advair?

An Advair diskus inhaler contains a mixture of fluticasone and salmeterol. Salmeterol is more commonly known as Serevent. Fluticasone and salmeterol shrink the swelling in the airways and relax and open air passages in the lungs in order to treat asthma. Advair, approved by the FDA in 2000, is made by GlaxoSmithKline.
