What is Tequin?


Bristol-Myers Squibb Company markets Tequin, which has the generic name of gatifloxacin. Tequin is an antibiotic that is prescribed to patients suffering from sinus, lung, or urinary tract infections. Tequin is a member of the class of drugs known as fluoroquinolone antibiotics, which are designed to treat bacterial infections. Other members of the fluoroquinolone antibiotic class of medications include Levaquin, Cipro, and Avelox. Tequin was approved by the FDA in 1999.
